UN OCHA’s Global Humanitarian Overview 2018 states that more than 128 million people globally need humanitarian assistance and protection this year – at a cost of $24.2 billion. There are currently 69 million forcibly displaced people worldwide and a current global figure of 22.5 million refugees (half of which are under 18) plus there are 28,300 people a day forced to flee their homes because of conflict, that’s the equivalent of 20 every minute. In addition to human displacement, UN OCHA estimate there are four times as many natural disasters today (when 10+ people are killed or 100+ affected) than there were in the 1960s.
Products and services which protect and respond to these humanitarian disasters are vital. In its 10th year, the AIDF Global Summit will take place at the Ronald Reagan building in Washington D.C. where it has been held for the last 8 years. Over the past 14 years, AIDF has grown to become the leading global platform serving the humanitarian aid and development sectors, bringing together regional governments, NGOs, Civil Society, Aid agencies, UN and donor organisations with the private sector.
The AIDF Global Summit offers you the opportunity to showcase your products and services directly to over 350 procurement officers and key specifiers while also providing thought leadership and capacity building on your specific areas of expertise in order to help combat and overcome this global challenge.
