La Dolphin Connection

The Dolphin Connection is an association law 1901 created to bring together advocates of dolphins and whales across Europe and the world. The activity of the Dolphin Connection focuses on two aspects: the public awareness to problems of captive cetaceans, and legal action at administrative and political bodies of the European Union.
The three founding goals of our movement thus articulated as follows:
  • Together across borders associations and people sympathetic to the cause of dolphins
  • Organizing information campaigns and awareness for the general public and media
  • Conduct litigation in the European Union to ban the captivity of cetaceans
The Dolphin Connection has its core values of the Declaration of Rights for Cetaceans: Dolphins and Whales, adopted in Helsinki on 22 May 2010, including its preamble, which is as follows:
  • Recognizing that scientific research gives us a more accurate view of the complexity of the mind, societies and cultures cetaceans;
  • Noting that the progressive development of international law manifests a growing sense of commitment to recognition of rights for cetaceans;
  • We affirm that all cetaceans as persons have the right to life, liberty and well-being.
The operation for the dolphins of Antibes (South of France) is the first important action led by La Dolphin Connection. Its aim  is to organise during this summer, an awareness campaign on dolphins and cetaceans in captivity in Antibes.The operation consists in distributing flyers aiming at increasing the awareness  of the people likely to go to a dolphinarium. Each one of these flyers tends to interpellate the readers, and to invite them to go to our website, where they will be able to read more detailed information against dolphins’ captivity.
